The New School seeks a student-position assistant to support the design and installation of an exhibition at 72 5th Avenue. The role focuses on evaluating space, planning exhibition materials, and coordinating the de-installation and material repurposing after the show.
Responsibilities include designing in plan and elevation, finalizing materials from Spring 2026, creating boards and graphics, moving campus materials, and organizing an opening event. On-campus work is required.
Students will evaluate and document the exhibition space at 72 5th Avenue. The install will occur in August with programming following in September. Deinstall will occur in September/October in which students will manage the repurposing of materials and reset for the spring ’27 class objectives.
Participation in the Design IV Design Workshop studio or related graduate-level design studios in Spring 2026 which provides the framework, skills and knowledge to engage this work as outlined above.
