Die Max-Planck-Institute für Sozialrecht und Sozialpolitik in München sucht studentische Hilfskräfte im PERGAP-Projekt. Sie unterstützen den Aufbau einer interdisziplinären Datenbank zur vergleichenden Analyse sozialer Politiken in Europa und darüber hinaus.

Qualifications

• Ongoing Bachelor’s or Master’s studies in a social science-related discipline at a German university (preferably in Munich), with above-average academic achievements.
• Previous research experience as a student assistant in an academic environment.
• Knowledge of quantitative methods and data analysis (preferably with Stata) is an asset.
• Reliable and detail-oriented, able to work both independently and in a team.
• Good command of English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Unterstützung bei der Entwicklung einer Datenbank zum Vergleich sozialer Politiken und öffentlicher Wahrnehmungen.
• Mitwirkung an wissenschaftlichen Outputs zu Ungleichheit, vergleichender Sozialpolitik und Sozialstratifikation.
• Datenerhebung und Kodierung von Datensätzen, Durchführung von deskriptiver Analysen, Literaturrecherchen und Literature Reviews.

Student Assistant Positions (m/f/d) in PERGAP Project

The Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy in Munich, Germany, is a research facility of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science (Max-Planck-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Wissenschaften e.V.). The Department of Foreign and International Social Law is seeking applications for Student Assistant Positions (m/f/d) in PERGAP Project

(min. 8 hours/week)

Ihre Aufgaben

As a student assistant, you will support the development of a database for comparing social policies and public perceptions across Europe and beyond. You will also contribute to scientific output on topics such as public opinion on inequality, comparative social policy, and social stratification. Your tasks will primarily include collecting and coding datasets, performing descriptive analyses, researching data and literature and preparing literature reviews.
