Student Assistant: Kids' Company Before or After School

Open across all elementaries in the New Prague (MN) district. Multiple positions available. Shifts available: 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. and/or 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Immediate start required.

Job Summary

A Student Assistant supports the Kids' Company childcare program’s daily operations by fostering a safe, structured, and engaging environment for enrolled children. Key responsibilities include supervising and interacting with children, facilitating choice‑based activities, and monitoring interactions to encourage positive behaviors. The role also provides targeted support to students' social and emotional development for those who may need additional guidance.

Work Requirements and Characteristics

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• High school student allowed.
• Completion of 1040 child contact hours using district training programs, experience, or equivalent coursework.
• CPR and First Aid certified, or willing to become certified within the first 90 days of employment.
• Valid Minnesota driver’s license.

• 1–3 years of early childhood or youth programming experience preferred.
• Must be at least 16 years of age.

• Ability to work effectively with students of all ages and abilities in a positive manner.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills – oral, written, and web‑based.
