Job summary

University of West Georgia is seeking a part-time Student Assistant in Elementary Education to support the ESER Student Success Committee. The role involves outreach, developing promotional materials, and gathering feedback from students in their freshman and sophomore years.

The student will help promote, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of committee events, with faculty collaboration to plan and organize future activities. A strong, self-motivated student is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be an undergraduate UWG student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours.
  • GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Responsibilities

  • Review existing student success committee activity data and feedback from previous events.
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with the student success committee.
  • Present their perspective of the data and make recommendations to the student success committee.
  • In conjunction with faculty, organize and plan future student success events.
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with student success committee to present student perspectives.
  • Implement and attend student success events.
  • Design surveys to elicit student feedback from juniors and seniors.
  • Create an annual report based on experiences and survey data to help with future planning.
  • Job duties will be assigned as this position develops, based on the needs of the students and the student success committee.

Job Summary

The student will help promote, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of the ESER student success committee events. This outreach will include identifying students in their freshman and sophomore year of general coursework, prior to beginning program major coursework. The SRAP will work with the ESER Student Success Committee faculty to develop promotional materials, student interest surveys, and organize attendance and feedback data.
