Job summary

Dallas College is seeking a Student Assistant for multiple departments to provide administrative and instructional support, assist with events, data entry, mail, and scheduling. This part-time role is designed for undergraduate students under federal work-study funds.

Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering phones, managing calendars, preparing documents, and maintaining confidentiality. Candidates must meet SAP and be enrolled in at least six hours per term.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student awarded federal work study funds.
  • Must meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards.
  • Must be enrolled and certified in at least six hours (half time) for Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen.
  • No prior institutional balance or blocks.
  • Must have transportation to off-campus worksites.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, greet visitors, and provide general information or direct inquiries.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail and small package deliveries.
  • Perform data entry, maintain records, and update databases accurately.
  • Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and manage calendars as needed.
  • Prepare and proofread correspondence, reports, presentations, and other documents.
  • Assist with office supply inventory and ordering.
  • Provide support for departmental events, workshops, or special projects.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
