Job summary

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with email, phone, in-person discussions, and paper forms.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, organize and segment donor audiences for long-term engagement and solicitation.
  • Coordinate touchpoints, draft solicitation pieces, assist with marketing/solicitation efforts and contribute new outreach ideas.
  • Gather donor impact stories for communications with leads for compelling stories.
  • Assist with stewardship projects and on-site donor events when appropriate.
  • Meet weekly with supervisor for training and support.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Director of Annual Giving and other development staff to identify, organize and segment within the UGA donor database, various donor audiences for long-term engagement and solicitation. Percentage of time 55
  • Support cultivation and donor engagement efforts by assisting with the coordination of established touchpoints, drafting marketing/solicitation pieces, assisting with marketing/solicitation efforts and contributing ideas for new outreach initiatives. Percentage of time 20
  • Gather donor impact stories for all PSO units with the goal of providing communications with leads for compelling stories. Collaborate with the development team on elevating impact stories to donors and unit liaisons. Percentage of time 10
  • Work closely with the Stewardship and Donor Relations Coordinator with stewardship related projects and assist onsite donor events when appropriate. Percentage of time 10
  • Meet weekly with supervisor and/or designated development staff to receive ongoing training and support Percentage of time 5

Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary This student position, serving the Development Office at the Office of the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach ( OVPPSO ), provides the opportunity to participate in many functions of the office. This position is for an individual who has an interest in fundraising and development, marketing/pr, and public service and higher education administration.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

Planning a career involving marketing and/or fundraising for business, higher education, government, not-for-profit entities, or public service. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Students in the PSO - OVP will work closely with the Director of Annual Giving, development staff, administrative support staff, and communications professionals to manage data for solicitation efforts, coordinate segmented annual solicitations, and draft donor messaging for appeals and initiatives. The candidate will need:

  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage projects simultaneously
  • Training and proficiency in UGA’s donor database CRM ( GAIL )
  • Data gathering, analysis and presentation skills
  • Experience writing and designing solicitation materials
  • Effective communication in writing, speaking, and listening
  • Familiarity using electronic mail, telephone, face-to-face discussions, paper form correspondence
