Coordinate and oversee a variety of student affairs/student life programs and services in order to improve the quality of student life and improve student retention.
Develop, implement, and market programs and/or services which reflect the goals of the student affairs office and meets the needs of students. Implement data-based initiatives to gather and analyze formal and informal feedback from students. Stay abreast of trends, issues and best practices regarding a specific professional area.
Provide coaching, guidance, and supervision of both individuals and student organizations on issues related to academic achievement, student development, leadership, conflict resolution, community building, and collaboration with other students and student groups on campus. Focus on creating an inviting and welcoming environment. Foster an atmosphere of student-staff learning and development.
Develop and maintain initiative-based partnerships with campus partners and student organizations that address assessed needs and further the goals and vision of student affairs. Respond to campus partners, alumni and parent's questions, concerns and inquiries.
Enforce university and system policies and procedures. Respond to issues and resolve problems.
Maintain program files and records. Prepare a variety of regular and special report. Manage programming budgets.
Coordinate the daily operations of tutoring and supplemental instruction initiatives designed to support student learning, persistence, and academic success. Oversee tutoring schedules, service delivery, and operational processes to ensure timely, high-quality academic support aligned with institutional student success goals. Serve as the primary point of contact for tutoring vendors, communicating operational needs, sharing data, and escalating concerns as appropriate.
Recruit, train, supervise, and develop tutors, supplemental instruction leaders, and other student staff with an emphasis on professionalism, accountability, and student support. Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, operational direction, and performance feedback to student staff. Coordinate training and development initiatives designed to strengthen tutoring effectiveness, student engagement, and academic support practices.
Collaborate with faculty, academic departments, and campus partners to align tutoring and supplemental instruction services with course demands and student success priorities. Support initiatives focused on improving outcomes in high-DFW courses through targeted academic support and intervention strategies. Partner with Orientation & Family Programs and Student Success Coaching to support holistic student success initiatives, outreach efforts, and departmental programming.
Track, analyze, and report tutoring usage, satisfaction, engagement, and learning outcomes to assess program effectiveness and support continuous improvement efforts. Promote awareness of tutoring and supplemental instruction services through outreach, marketing, campus events, and student engagement initiatives. Maintain operational resources, schedules, and program materials efficiently and in alignment with departmental procedures and expectations.
Communicate professionally and effectively with students, faculty, staff, vendors, and campus partners while maintaining responsiveness and student-centered support. Adhere to university policies, ethical standards, confidentiality expectations, and professional conduct requirements in all interactions. Participate in meetings, trainings, professional development opportunities, and departmental assessment and planning activities related to student success and retention efforts. This position may require occasional evening and weekend work to support tutoring initiatives, outreach activities, student engagement events, and other departmental operations.
Bachelor's degree and one (1) years of related work experience.
$23.50 /hr. ($48,880 annual)
