Job description

*This is a 2nd shift position, working Mon 1:30 pm- 11:30 pm, Tuesday-Thursday 3:30 pm - 1:30 am* This shift comes with a $2.00/hr shift differential.

Job Purpose

American Products is currently seeking a stud welder to join our team! We are growing rapidly and are looking for dedicated, hard-working people seeking career opportunities. We offer 100% paid tuition, a generous paid time off package, and a safety-first work environment.

Our welders play an important role on the American Products production team. Their primary purpose is to weld our world-class equipment enclosures with 100% precision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand and follow all company procedures for safety.
  • Inspect work pieces to conform to customer specs.
  • Follow technical instructions, interpret engineering blueprints, and technical terms.
  • Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.
  • Test finished products for defects.
  • Maintain the tools used to create products.
  • Keep a clean and well-maintained workspace.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Specialized Knowledge and Experience

  • Stud welding is a plus but not necessary.
  • Ability to use a tape measure.
  • Quality-oriented.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, shop floor documentation, customer specifications/diagrams, and instructions provided by supervisors/managers.
  • No experience is required, but the successful candidates must have the mechanical aptitude to manufacture parts with high quality.

  • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot.
