Job summary

Maania Consultancy Services seeks a Structures & Mechanisms Mechanical Engineer for a client in Houston, TX. The role focuses on mechanisms, mechatronics, and aerospace hardware, with heavy emphasis on design, analysis, and verification.

You will lead development from concept to manufacturing, perform FEA in ANSYS/Nastran, CAD in SOLIDWORKS, and ensure GD&T per ASME Y14.5. Senior engineers mentor a team and interact with cross-functional groups.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering applied to mechanisms, mechatronics in aerospace or robotics.
• Strong knowledge of static & dynamics, structural analysis, fracture control, fatigue, thermal effects, materials & lubrication.
• Experience with product development from concept to manufacturing, including requirements writing and verification/validation strategies.
• Proficient in SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling; familiar with FEA tools such as ANSYS or Nastran and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience creating and reviewing drawings with GD&T per ASME Y-14.5.
• Design for manufacturing, qualification and acceptance testing knowledge.
• Experience in mentoring and leading technical teams; spaceflight hardware design experience preferred.

Required Skills:

• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
• 5 or more years of relevant experience.
• Relevant experience in mechanical engineering applied to mechanisms, mechatronics in aeronautical and space, automotive or robotics engineering field.
• Strong knowledge of static & dynamics, structural analysis, fracture control, fatigue, thermal effects, materials & lubrication.
• Demonstrated product development from initial concept to manufacturing, including requirements writing, risk reduction through verification and validation strategies.
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS 3D modeling software or similar computer aided design tool.
• Experience with FEA software packages (Ansys, Nastran preferred) and MathWorks MATLAB & Simulink products.
• Experience creating and reviewing engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y-14.5.
• Experience with Design for manufacturing, qualification & acceptance testing.
• Experience in functional management and mentoring.
• Background with Spaceflight hardware design & NASA standards preferred.
• Show a track record of providing efficient solutions to difficult technical challenges.
