Job summary

Boeing, through Spirit AeroSystems, seeks an assembler in Tulsa, OK to perform manual assembly, machining, and verification to exacting aerospace standards.

You will use hand tools and precision instruments, follow work instructions, and maintain quality while meeting production schedules. Union-represented position with pay starting at $20/hour and potential up to $32.69/hour under the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work any shift
  • Overtime may be required, including extended hours
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production setting would be beneficial
  • Background in aerospace/aviation would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring instruments would help

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering requirements, work orders, prints, charts, sketches, work instructions, documents, verbal and electronic information to manufacture to quality requirements, parts and assemblies.
  • Setup and perform all manual assembly operations and related machine functions required to accomplish assignments.
  • Use precision measuring instruments required to accomplish tasks.
  • Assemble and mate structural parts and assemblies by drilling, route, ream, countersink, spotface, counterbore and installing fasteners utilizing hand-powered tools.
  • Qualified candidate will need to successfully pass a skills demonstration.
  • Utilize tooling in the assembly of components into sub-assemblies or end items.
  • Verify work performed is per work instructions and meets process and/or engineering specification. Identify discrepancies found per applicable procedure.
  • Ensure equipment and tool certification occurs per procedure.
  • Perform work within allotted schedules.
  • Support the continuous flow of product within the manufacturing process by training and assisting employees at all classification levels.

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units(“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • All candidates must be able to work any shift.
  • Overtime is an essential function of this role and employees may be required to work in excess of 8 hours per day or over 40 hours per week
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production setting
  • Background in aerospace/aviation
  • Knowledge of hand tools and precision measuring instruments
