Job summary

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking a Structures Mechanic to perform aircraft structural modifications, repairs, and installations per approved data and STCs. You will fabricate, fit, and install components while following drawings and safety procedures.

Work involves reading AMM/FIM/SRM documentation, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with FAA and customer standards in a hangar environment.

Qualifications

• Experience performing aircraft structural modifications, repairs, or installations.
• Reading engineering drawings, STC packages, AMM, IPS, FIM, and other approved data.
• Knowledge of repair/modification techniques and documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with inspection buy-back processes and quality control requirements.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural modifications and installations on aircraft, including fuselage crown doublers, structural reinforcements, and related sub-assemblies.
• Fabricate, fit, drill, assemble, and install structural components using engineering drawings and specifications.
• Read, interpret, and execute work per STC drawings, engineering orders, and other approved documentation.
• Ensure compliance with installation requirements, quality standards, and customer specifications.
• Understand and adhere to inspection buy-back processes (OK to Install, OK to Drill, OK to Close).
• Utilize AMM, AIPC, FIM, ESPM, SRM, and other applicable documentation.
• Perform work in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and support QA activities.
• Follow tool control procedures and maintain accountability for tools/equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe hangar/work environment.

Structures MechanicPosition Summary

The Structures Mechanic is responsible for performing aircraft structural modifications, repairs, and installations in accordance with approved engineering data, Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs), maintenance manuals, and company quality standards. This position supports aircraft modification programs and ensures all work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform structural modifications and installations on aircraft, including fuselage crown doublers, structural reinforcements, and related sub-assemblies.
• Fabricate, fit, drill, assemble, and install structural components using approved engineering drawings and specifications.
• Read, interpret, and execute work in accordance with technical STC drawings, engineering orders, flag notes, and other approved documentation.
• Ensure compliance with installation requirements, quality standards, and customer specifications throughout all phases of work.
• Understand and adhere to inspection buy-back processes, including 'OK to Install,' 'OK to Drill,' and 'OK to Close' requirements.
• Utilize aircraft maintenance and technical publications, including AMM, AIPC, FIM, ESPM, SRM, and other applicable documentation.
• Perform work in accordance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and industry best practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and support inspection and quality assurance activities.
• Follow established tool control procedures and maintain accountability for all assigned tools and equipment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience performing aircraft structural modifications, repairs, or installations.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, STC packages, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPS), Fault Isolation Manuals (FIM), work instructions, or other approved technical data.
• Working knowledge of aircraft structural repair and modification techniques.
• Familiarity with inspection buy-back processes and quality control requirements.
• Understanding of aircraft maintenance documentation and recordkeeping requirements.
• Knowledge of aircraft tool control procedures and best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in confined spaces and maintain various physical positions for extended periods, including kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, reaching, sitting, and lying down.
• Ability to work on elevated aircraft surfaces using ladders, manlifts, airstairs, and other approved access equipment.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds in accordance with company safety guidelines.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, and structural assembly equipment.
