Job summary

Lumicity is seeking Staff and Principal level Structures Design Engineers to join the airframe team of a well-funded, fast-growing defense technology company. You will own the design of composite aircraft structures for a brand-new class of autonomous flight vehicle.

Requirements include a strong background in composite airframe design, experience designing major structural components, and CAD proficiency (Siemens NX preferred, SolidWorks acceptable).

Qualifications

• Strong background in mechanical/structural/airframe design on composite aircraft
• Experience designing major structural components (landing gear, propulsion integration, wings, fuselages)
• CAD proficiency in Siemens NX preferred (SolidWorks acceptable)
• Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team with high individual ownership and minimal process overhead
• Less likely to be a fit for candidates who've spent 5+ years at a traditional aerospace prime

• Strong background in mechanical/structural/airframe design on composite aircraft - metallic-only backgrounds won't be a fit
• Experience designing major structural components - landing gear, propulsion integration, wings, fuselages, booms, or similar
• CAD proficiency in Siemens NX preferred (SolidWorks acceptable)
• Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team with high individual ownership and minimal process overhead
• Less likely to be a fit for candidates who've spent 5+ years at a traditional aerospace prime
