Job summary

Venerable is seeking a Portfolio Manager to lead and support the management of investment strategies, with emphasis on structured and securitized fixed income assets such as ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLOs, and related sectors. You will analyze opportunities, manage liquidity and ALM, and interface with multiple internal teams.

The role requires strong analytical abilities, 7+ years in fixed income, and expertise across risk metrics and portfolio analytics tools.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and finance-focused education is required.
Minimum 7 years of fixed income investment experience.
Experience with structured or securitized assets such as ABS, RMBS, CMBS, and CLOs.
Knowledge of fixed income instruments, credit analysis, portfolio management, derivatives, ALM, and insurance regulations.
Understanding of risk measures including duration and OAS.
Proficiency in structured finance cash flow analysis.
Insurance portfolio management and optional experience with variable annuities.
Experience with Bloomberg, Intex, Aladdin or similar systems.
CFA, MBA, or progress toward CFA preferred.
Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Contribute to and lead management of Venerable investment portfolios including structured fixed income.
Analyze portfolio cash flows, duration, spread risk, liquidity, and ALM considerations.
Perform credit analysis and surveillance of fixed income and structured assets.
Interface with Risk, Operations, Treasury, Finance, Actuarial, and Accounting teams.
Mentor junior investment professionals and contribute to team development.
