Job summary

HIA Legal seeks a Structured Finance Counsel in New York to lead sophisticated asset-backed financings and cross-border capital markets matters, working directly with issuers, sponsors, financial institutions and asset managers.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience advising on structured finance, securitisation, asset-backed finance or broader capital markets transactions.
• Experience representing financial institutions, issuers, sponsors, asset managers or investors on complex matters.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and client-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead matters in asset-backed securitisations, warehouse/forward flow financing, CLOs and related structures.
• Lead transactions from inception through execution, engaging issuers, sponsors, banks and investors.
• Develop and manage client relationships and contribute to growth of the practice.
• Mentor junior lawyers and help shape the group’s strategic direction.
• Support cross-border deals and collaboration within a leading structured finance team.

This opportunity is well suited to experienced Senior Associates ready to step into a Counsel role, as well as existing Counsel seeking a stronger platform and a clear, credible pathway towards partnership. Counsel can expect to play a leading role on matters including:

• asset-backed securitisations across a broad range of asset classes,
• warehouse and forward flow financing arrangements,
• CLOs and other structured credit transactions,
• receivables, consumer finance and specialty finance transactions,
• private credit and asset-backed lending structures, and
• complex cross-border structured finance and capital markets transactions.

This role offers the opportunity to lead transactions from inception through to execution, working directly with issuers, sponsors, financial institutions, asset managers and investors while taking increasing responsibility for client relationships, mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the strategic growth of the practice.
