Job summary

United Rentals in the United States seeks a Temporary Structure Installer to assemble and dismantle tent structures using powered equipment, lifts, and hand tools. This entry-level role offers on-the-job training and a path to advanced certifications.

You’ll learn frame and fabric installation, site layout, and safe loading/unloading on company vehicles while following manufacturer and company guidelines. The position emphasizes safety and teamwork with warehouse staff.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Entry-level role with on-the-job training provided.
• Valid driver’s license with minimal infractions; willingness to obtain forklift/manlift certifications within 6 months.
• Familiarity with DOT/OSHA regulations is a plus.
• Basic use of hand tools; willingness to operate powered equipment.

Responsibilities

• Installation and dismantling of tent structures; understand various tent types (frame, pole, clearspan, canopy).
• Identify and name tent components (beams, rafters, purlins, uprights, stakes, anchors, tensioning hardware, keder systems).
• Assist senior installers with assembly/disassembly; site layout and preparation.
• Follow manufacturer specifications and load/unload materials safely on vehicles and trailers.
• Coordinate with warehouse/logistics for equipment counts and site guidance.

Temporary Structure Installers I will build and dismantle tent structures per manufacturer and company guidelines.

What You’ll Do

• Installation and Dismantling of Tent Structures. Understand the types of tent structures used by the company (frame, pole, clearspan, structure tents, canopies, etc.)
• Identify and name all tent components, including beams, rafters, purlins, uprights, stakes, anchors, tensioning hardware, and keder systems
• Observe and assist senior installers with the assembly and disassembly process
• Layout and site preparation
• Tent frame assembly sequence
• Fabric installation and tensioning
• Securing and anchoring methods
• Understand and follow manufacturer specifications for each structure type. Properly load, secure, and unload materials on company vehicles and trailers to prevent damage or shifting during transit
• Follow directions from the warehouse and logistics teams to ensure accurate equipment counts
• Assist in site layout using measuring tools and supervisor guidance. Properly load, secure, and unload materials on company vehicles and trailers to prevent damage or shifting during transit

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Entry-level position, no prior tent installation experience necessary; on-the-job training provided
• Construction or related experience a plus, but not required
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with minimal driving infractions
• Ability to obtain forklift, manlift, and OSHA certifications within 6 months
• Familiarity with DOT and OSHA regulations is a plus, but not required
• Basic use of hand tools (hammer, drill, rachet, wrenches, impact driver)
• Willingness to learn power equipment, such as forklifts, boom lifts, and stake drivers
• Able to follow instructions and implement feedback
• Strong organizational skills and show attention to detail
