You will inspect welds, participate in NDT, read blueprints, and collaborate with production to drive corrective actions on the shop floor. This role demands a strong understanding of WPS and CJP standards and experience in high-volume fabrication environments.

Qualifications

• Active AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required.
• Extensive experience inspecting structural steel welding.
• Proficient in evaluating MIG/GMAW welding processes.
• Ability to read weld symbols, drawings and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of structural steel assemblies before distribution.
• Assess MIG/GMAW weld quality to Complete Joint Penetration (CJP) standards.
• Execute and document advanced NDT procedures (UT and MT) on seismic/load-bearing structures.
• Analyze blueprints, fabrication schematics, and shop drawings for accurate execution.
• Collaborate with production and welding staff to troubleshoot defects and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) adherence for consistent quality.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive visual examinations of structural steel assemblies to guarantee compliance before final distribution.
• Evaluate MIG/GMAW weld quality, with a specific focus on achieving high-integrity Complete Joint Penetration (CJP) standards.
• Execute and document advanced NDT procedures, including Ultrasonic Testing (UT) and Magnetic Particle (MT) methods, on seismic and load-bearing structures.
• Analyze complex engineering blueprints, fabrication schematics, and shop drawings to ensure precise project execution.
• Collaborate with production teams and welding staff to troubleshoot defects and implement effective corrective actions.
• Monitor adherence to established Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) to uphold consistent quality across the manufacturing floor.
