Job summary

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking a Structural Welder to fabricate components for refrigeration systems and work closely with shop leadership on a range of assemblies.

The role guarantees consistent hours and offers advancement opportunities. The ideal candidate will have welding training or schooling and at least 1 year of welding experience, with the ability to pass a 3G test and lift heavy objects as required.

Qualifications

• Welding school graduate with 1+ year welding experience preferred (extensive experience considered in lieu of education).
• Pass a 3G Stick Weld test (¼” plate, 37.5° bevel, open root, uphill progression).
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs repeatedly and work 10–12 hour shifts.
• Able to work safely at heights and in hot or cold shop environments with PPE.
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Weld structural components such as skid frames, penthouse frames, dispersion tanks, condenser platforms, and pipe stands.
• Weld other critical components related to compressors, vessels, evaporators, oil separators, and prefabricated assemblies.
• Work closely with shop foremen and the VP of Manufacturing.
• Assist with insulation, electrical, and painting tasks as needed.

Job Role

The Structural Welder works both independently and as part of a team to fabricate components for refrigeration systems including skid frames, vessels, evaporators, and condensers. Reporting to shop leadership, this position guarantees consistent hours and offers opportunities for advancement.

Shift

Daylight, Monday-Saturday (every other Saturday), guaranteed 40-50 hours/week

Schedule

Off every Sunday

Key Duties

• Weld structural components such as skid frames, penthouse frames, dispersion tanks, condenser platforms, and pipe stands
• Weld other critical components related to compressors, vessels, evaporators, oil separators, and prefabricated assemblies
• Work closely with shop foremen and the VP of Manufacturing
• Assist with insulation, electrical, and painting tasks as needed

Requirements

• Welding school graduate and 1+ year of welding experience preferred (extensive experience considered in lieu of education)
• Ability to pass a 3G Stick Weld test (¼” plate, 37.5° bevel, open root, uphill progression)
• Ability to climb 40-foot ladders and work at heights in a safety harness
• Safe operation of scissor lifts, forklifts, boom lifts, lulls, and other industrial equipment
• Must be able to see and hear industrial equipment
• Capable of working independently for 10-12 hour shifts
• Must be able to lift 75 lbs frequently
• Ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods
• Able to work in hot or cold shop environments with required PPE
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check required
• Familiarity with rigging, torch cutting, grinder and wire wheel operation, leveling, and use of measurement tools
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise).
• Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely.
