Position And Responsibilities Overview

• Operate trade specific machinery
• Must be able to read and understand labels, and the ability to pick the proper machine as well as sequence of operation
• Interpret job orders and drawings as needed for area of assignment
• Inspects and documents product compliance and maintenance of equipment
• Ability to operate lift trucks and overhead cranes
• Ability to read a tape
• Ability to understand and comply with all safety and shop rules
• Perform other assignments as directed.

Qualifications

Welder 1:

• Must be 3G certified in welding
• Can efficiently weld basic tickets meeting quality standards
• Ability to do intermediate math
• Basic weld symbol knowledge
  
  

Welder 2: All of the above plus:

• 3-5 years of welding and metal processing (FCAW, GMAW, in multiple modes of transfer
• Must be 3G certified in welding. Able to become 6g certified
• Can efficiently weld medium complexity tickets meeting quality standards
• Ability to weld light metals
• Intermediate math to include some trigonometry and geometry
• Ability to interrupt blue prints and have a mastery of weld symbols
• Ability to mentor Welder 1’s
• Understands continuous improvement initiatives and is willing and able to make contributions
  
  

Welder 3: All of the above plus:

• 5+ years of welding, metal processing and structural fitting
• Must be 3G and 6G certified in welding
• Must be able to weld with SMAW
• Can efficiently weld advanced complexity tickets meeting quality standards
• Ability to weld light and heavy structural metals
• Ability to do advanced math including trigonometry and geometry
• Ability to read advanced blueprints
• Communicate status of orders to the shop superintendent
• Understands and contributes to medium complexity continuous improvement initiatives
• Understands beginning lean manufacturing
• Ability to develop and lead up to 5 welders

• RK Mechanical employees and subcontractors are required to implement and maintain all safety and health systems practices including the training requirements of RK Mechanical Orientation, shop specific orientation, CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Identification and Reporting, and OSHA 10.
  
  

Minimum Physical Requirements

• Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.
• Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
• Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
• Work in all types of weather.
• Must have working knowledge of all trade materials and tools
• Ability to lift, move, and/or carry 50 lbs.
