Job summary

Automation Personnel Services Cullman Branch is seeking a Structural Fitter to support fabrication in a busy shop in Cullman, AL. You will lay out and assemble rails, columns, stairs, and more from shop drawings, using saws, torches, plasma cutters and grinders, while ensuring dimensional accuracy.

The position runs Monday through Friday, 6am to 4:30pm, with emphasis on precision welds and quality checks. Benefits available after eligibility and a temp-to-hire pathway.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques.
• Must have experience as a structural / miscellaneous fitter.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Detail oriented and able to read blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Interpret shop drawings to determine layout / assembly procedures.
• Fabrication / shop assembly of structural steel components, ensuring accuracy & adherence to plan dimensions and requirements.
• Fabrication / shop assembly of miscellaneous steel components for stairs, handrails, ladders and more.
• Measure, cut, shape, & tack weld steel materials such as beams, plates, tubes, pipes, etc., using tools such as saws, torches, plasma cutter, and grinders.
• Perform quality checks to verify dimensions, alignment and welds.
