Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Structural Steel Fabricator role located in Kemp, TX. The Structural Steel Fabricator is responsible for interpreting blueprints and shop drawings, measuring and laying out materials, and cutting, drilling, and fitting structural steel components. Daily tasks include operating fabrication equipment (such as saws, drills, shears, and welding machines), assembling steel structures, and ensuring all pieces meet quality and dimensional standards. The role involves working safely in a shop environment, following company procedures and OSHA guidelines, collaborating with supervisors and coworkers to meet production schedules, and maintaining tools and equipment in good working order. The fabricator may also assist with loading, unloading, and preparing materials for delivery or installation.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret structural steel blueprints, shop drawings, and measurements with strong attention to detail.
• Experience with basic metal fabrication processes, including cutting, drilling, grinding, fitting, and assembly of steel components.
• Proficiency or familiarity with welding (MIG, flux-core, or stick) and safe operation of fabrication tools and machinery.
• Knowledge of shop safety practices, proper use of PPE, and adherence to OSHA and company safety guidelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to follow instructions, and capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy materials, and work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
• Previous experience in structural steel fabrication or a related trade is preferred; vocational training or certifications in welding or metal fabrication are a plus.
• Reliable transportation to the Kemp, TX worksite and willingness to work required shifts and overtime when needed.
