Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade training preferred.
• 2+ years of CNC operation experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to read and understand structural steel shop drawings.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools.
• Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment including plasma cutters, beam drill lines, and angle lines.
• Review fabrication drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine production requirements.
• Load and secure steel beams, plates, and materials using cranes and rigging equipment.
• Monitor equipment operation and adjust for accuracy and quality.
• Check dimensions with precision tools to ensure tolerances.
• Make basic programming edits or machine adjustments for different sizes/thicknesses.
• Perform routine CNC maintenance and assist troubleshooting.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area following OSHA and shop procedures.
