Ardurra is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our Orlando, FL team. The candidate will contribute to detailed design of bridges and roadway structures and support FDOT projects across a range of assignments.

Ideal applicants hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering (ABET) with 6+ years of transportation experience; a Florida PE license is strongly desired or attainable within six months. A professional, team-oriented approach is required.

Ardurra is seeking a Structural Project Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL!

Ardurra’s Transportation team offers design capabilities ranging from complex multilevel interchanges to urban arterial reconstruction to complete streets for our clients. Our portfolio features a plethora of signature projects including the I-395 Signature Bridge reconstruction project in Downtown Miami as showcased in the Engineering News-Record! Each of our designs is customized, sustainable, and cost-effective for our clients covering all project types, including Design Build or Design Bid Build. Our clients have relied on our expertise in comprehensive planning, engineering design, and construction management to provide safe and efficient transportation solutions.

We are looking for an engineer with experience in detailed design of bridges and miscellaneous roadway structures to support a wide range of FDOT projects. Projects will include but are not limited to minor and major/complex roadways and interchanges and will offer the opportunity to mentor and guide junior staff and be mentored by some of the top local experts in the transportation industry.

Primary Function:

Performs detailed phases of design engineering work for a project of moderate size and complexity (e.g., assignment involving a single engineering discipline). The incumbent must be fully competent in all conventional aspects of design engineering and be capable of planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Primary Duties:

• Perform analysis and detailed design of bridges and miscellaneous roadway structures, which conform with acceptable design standards, and which meet the specific requirements of the Florida Department of Transportation or the Federal Highway Administration.
• Prepare engineering calculations and engineering sketches and review drawings and BIM Models.
• Manage multiple projects and assume responsibility for project execution within required timeframes.
• Perform and assist in QA/QC of final design packages prior to issuing for construction.
• Communicate with staff and clients to provide timelines and project updates on a consistent basis.
• Providing both written and verbal reports to tight deadlines regarding multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university or college
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Florida is strongly desired or the ability to obtain your PE License within 6 months of hire
• 6+ years’ experience in Structural Engineering on Transportation/Roadway projects
• Proven proficiency utilizing various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment
