Position: Structural Mech Trainee - Savannah, GA

Job Description & Requirements:

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Entry-level position. Strong mechanical aptitude. Enrollment in a Technical Aviation program preferred. Essential communication skills include reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English, along with listening and keyboard skills.

Position Purpose: This entry-level role involves training in manufacturing and/or servicing aircraft. Under supervision, perform various structural assembly operations within a team environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities - Essential Functions:

1. Perform fitting of detail parts and basic drilling and riveting operations using hand tools (pneumatic drills, rivet guns, countersinks, reamers, files, etc.) under specific instructions.
2. Ensure parts and work meet instructions from manufacturing personnel and Quality Control Inspectors.
3. Learn to read work orders, blueprints, and specifications to determine sequence and requirements.
4. Align and assemble parts for riveting using fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
5. Observe, assist, and gradually work with less supervision as experience is gained.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to read scales and perform basic shop math.
• Read and understand basic documents and instructions.
• Possess essential personal skills: hands-on craft aptitude, professionalism, attention to detail, teamwork, and punctuality.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safety practices.
• Proficiency in current computer software.
• Availability to work any shift.
• Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds.
