Job summary

American Buildings Company - Illinois, a Nucor Company, is hiring a Structural Machine Operator for a 6p–6a shift (2-2-3 schedule) on multiple machines. You will operate CNC plasma, presses/punches, and various lines, following prints and job orders while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must have complete working knowledge and understand of how to read and use a tape measure.
• A demonstrated commitment to Safety in all job aspects
• Basic knowledge and understanding of LOTOTO program
• Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills
• A demonstrated history of ability to contribute effectively in a team environment
• A shown focus on continuous improvement efforts

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC presses/punches, CNC plasma, and any other equipment as needed on diversified work.
• Read prints, cutting lists and verbal/written orders to produce parts.
• Move material with overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks as necessary.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition; report faults.
• Identify areas for improvement and communicate suggestions to leadership.
• Maintain records such as preventative maintenance and inventory tracking.
