NOVA Engineering and Environmental, LLC seeks a Structural Forensic Engineer to join its Forensics Engineering team in Buford, Georgia. The role targets engineers with roughly 3-7 years of structural experience who want to specialize in forensic investigations, restoration engineering, and failure analysis.

You will work on distressed structures, building envelope evaluations, and restoration designs, gaining hands-on field exposure while collaborating with seasoned forensic engineers who mentor

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering.
• Approximately 3-7 years of structural engineering experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Experience performing structural analysis and engineering calculations.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of IBC, IRC, and related building codes.
• Ability to work independently in office and field environments.
• Willingness to perform site investigations, climb ladders, and work in various field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Investigate buildings, structures, and systems to evaluate damage and performance issues.
• Perform field assessments and site inspections to identify structural concerns and root causes.
• Conduct and oversee materials testing including concrete and masonry investigations.
• Utilize GPR and other investigative tools for advanced assessment.
• Perform structural analysis, calculations, and modeling of existing systems.
• Develop repair and restoration solutions for a wide range of structures.
• Prepare construction documents, including plans and details.
• Support construction administration with field observations and RFIs.
• Prepare clear engineering reports and findings.
• Collaborate with clients and senior engineers on project leadership.
