PeopleReady of Mobile, AL is seeking a precision-driven Structural Fitter to layout, cut, fit, and assemble structural steel components from complex blueprints and technical drawings. You will ensure perfect alignment and tack-weld pieces securely before final welding production.

The position offers next-day pay, flexible long- or short-term assignments, and the JobStack app to apply from your mobile device.

Formación

• 3+ years of verifiable experience in industrial structural steel fitting or marine shipfitting.
• Must be able to pass blueprint layout and fillet/groove tack weld tests.
• Candidate must have own tools.

Responsabilidades

• Interpret blueprint specifications, welding symbols, and structural layout configurations.
• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions on raw metal stock using standard math and fractions.
• Utilize alignment tools and overhead cranes to secure heavy components.
• Perform basic oxy-fuel or plasma cutting and tack welds to lock pieces in place.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and company safety procedures.

Structural Fitter / Fabricator

PeopleReady of Mobile, AL is now hiring Structural Fitters / Fabricators in Mobile, AL! We are seeking a precision-driven Structural Fitter to layout, cut, fit, and assemble structural steel components from complex blueprints and technical drawings. You will ensure perfect alignment and tack-weld pieces securely before final welding production.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $28 - $30 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Structural Fitter / Fabricator:

• Interpret blueprint specifications, welding symbols, and structural layout configurations

• Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions on raw metal stock (I-beams, channels, plates) using standard math and fractions

• Utilize alignment tools, come-a-longs, jacks, and overhead cranes to secure heavy components

• Perform basic oxy-fuel or plasma cutting torch work and execute strong tack welds (Flux-Core or MIG) to lock pieces in place

• Adhere strictly to OSHA standards and company safety procedures

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady

• 3+ years of verifiable experience in industrial structural steel fitting or marine shipfitting

• Proven capability to pass a hands-on blueprint layout test and a fillet/groove tack weld test

• Proficiency using rigging equipment and shop power tools

• Candidate must have their own tools
