Job summary

Sea Level Construction is seeking a Structural Fitter to support field and shop work in a safety-first environment. The role requires interpreting plans and performing precise fabrication tasks including welding, brazing and pipe/tube fitting to meet specifications.

You will verify pieces against blueprints, use measuring tools, and work with disciplined crews to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements. This is a full-time position in our local operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Five or more years of structural fitter experience preferred.
• Experience with reading blueprints preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes, executes and adheres to the company’s safety program.
• Examines blueprints and plan sequence of operation, applying geometry, heat effects, weld shrinkage, machining and metal thickness.
• Assembles and secure pipes, tubes, fittings and related equipment by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering and threading joints.
• Maintains quality that can pass NDT testing procedures.
• Performs fitting assignments safely and efficiently, following instructions with minimal supervision.
• Operates hand tools (e.g., chipping hammers, grinders).
• Operates lifts as required for overhead fittings.
• Examines work pieces for defects and measures with edges or templates to ensure specifications.
• Performs other construction duties as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Promotes, executes and adheres to the company’s safety program.
• Examines blueprints and plan sequence of operation, applying knowledge of geometry, effects of heat, weld shrinkage, machining and metal thickness.
• Assembles and secure pipes, tubes, fittings and related equipment according to specifications by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering and threading joints.
• Maintains quality that can pass NDT testing procedures.
• Performs fitting assignments in a safe and efficient manner practicing safety at all times.
• Operates applicable hand tools (chipping hammers, grinders, etc.).
• Operates high reaches or man lifts as required when having to perform fitting assignments above ground level.
• Follows instructions, written and/or verbal, with little or no supervision.
• Examines work pieces for defects and measures work pieces with straight edges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Performs other construction duties or task as required based on company’s needs.
