Job summary

OneFourTwo Design Group in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a motivated Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. The intern will assist in design, drafting, and construction processes under seasoned engineers, gaining hands-on experience in building codes, client meetings, and documentation.

The role emphasizes collaboration with architects and engineers, producing calculations and drawings in Revit, and exposure to the project lifecycle from concept to permit submission.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Civil Engineering degree program (Graduate or Undergraduate).
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Previous construction or engineering internship/co-op experience is a plus.
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and other outside project team members.
• Prepare preliminary designs for clients.
• Review building codes to ensure correct implementation of preparation and design.
• Attend client meetings, coordinate with construction project managers, architect, civil, and mechanical engineers.
• Produce structural calculations for implementation with technical drafting staff during preparation of construction documents for permit submittal as well as construction.
• Produce construction ready design drawings using Revit and coordinate with all disciplines to assure complete and accurate alignment.

A Day in the Life:

We are looking for a highly motivated Structural Engineering Intern who is passionate about the design, engineering, and construction process to join our team. At OneFourTwo, an Intern/Co-op has the opportunity to assist their team with the following:

• Communicate with technical drafting staff, clients, and other outside project team members
