Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design’s Bridges & Structures team in Miami, FL seeks a motivated Structural Engineering Intern to gain hands-on experience on bridges, culverts, and retaining walls under senior engineers’ supervision. You'll assist with engineering analyses, CAD drawings, and reports while learning LEAP, MIDAS, ETABS, and AutoCAD tools.

This paid internship offers mentorship, project exposure, and the chance to contribute to real-world infrastructure design.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related program.
  • Interest in Structural design required.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the office.
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or Microstation preferred.
  • Experience with structural analysis software (LEAP, MIDAS, ETABS, SAP, LARSA, etc.) is a plus.

  • Assist in preparation of engineering analyses and computations, CAD drawings, technical reports and cost estimates under supervision.
  • Collaborate with Bridges team to meet project deliverables and deadlines.
  • Apply classroom lessons to real-world projects in the Bridges & Structures group.

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineering Intern to join our Miami, FL team! You’ll gain hands‑on experience working on a diverse range of bridges and civil structures — from infrastructure to complex, one‑of‑a‑kind designs that challenge and inspire.

Our Bridges & Structures team is growing, and we’re looking for a forward‑thinking intern who’s eager to learn, collaborate, and take on real engineering challenges. Responsibilities
  • The selected candidate will work in the Bridges & Structures group of the Company’s Infrastructure Division on various projects including new or rehabilitated highway, rail and pedestrian bridges and culverts, retaining walls and temporary structures for contractors.
  • Responsibilities will include the preparation of a variety of engineering analyses and computations, CAD drawings, technical reports and cost estimates under the supervision of senior engineers.
  • Collaborate as a member of the Bridges team to realize project deliverables and deadlines.
  • Put classroom lessons to work in a practical, real‑world situation.
  • Occasional field work may be required under the supervision of senior engineers or managers.
  • In addition to the work‑centered program, we also offer robust internship programming, which includes opportunities to work with other interns, learn about other areas of the business, and develop valuable communication skills and networking connections.
Qualifications

  • Possess solid problem‑solving skills.
  • Must be able to work in a high‑paced environment.
  • Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job‑related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
