Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Structural Engineering Professional Associate in the Northeast to lead structural analysis and design for diverse projects. You will collaborate with the design team, develop concepts, run calculations, and ensure code compliance across seismic and wind provisions.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, PE license, 4+ years of structural experience, and strong communication. We value leadership, teamwork, and the ability to mentor junior staff in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer License (PE or PEng)
• At least 4 years of Structural Engineering experience
• Experience with US building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC
• Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, perform all conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design
• Plan and conduct work requiring judgement in evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques
• Exercise sound engineering judgement and problem-solving skills
• Possess knowledge of principles and practices of lateral analysis and design (wind and seismic)
• Exhibit attention to detail and quality control
• Take responsibility for managing workload and meeting schedule, budget, and quality requirements
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to designers/drafters and less experienced engineers
