Job summary

A civil engineering firm is seeking a Structural Civil Engineer in Eau Claire, WI. You will lead project designs, mentor junior staff, and ensure quality control. Locations

We’re hiring for our Green Bay, Madison, Milwaukee, and Eau Claire, WI offices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in bridge, retaining wall, and box culvert design. This role plays a key role across JT’s municipal, transportation, and site development groups.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of projects from concept through construction
• Mentor junior staff and perform quality control reviews of structural deliverables
• Collaborate with colleagues and embrace JT’s values and culture
• Communicate effectively internally and externally
• Perform quality work within established guidelines
• Assist with the management of project budgets
• Adhere to internal Quality Control processes to ensure accuracy and compliance

Job Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• A Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Wisconsin or ability to obtain PE within 6 months of hire
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Mathcad, RISA, LEAP Bridge, MDX, Eriksson Culvert and other comparable structural design software
• Familiarity with the WisDOT, AASTHO, ASCE, NDS, AISC, and other structural design codes (preferred)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Technical competence to perform project tasks independently
• Knowledge of client and internal software required to complete projects
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to worksites, meetings with clients, and attend conferences
• To be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located (i.e., without time limitations, restrictions, or need for work sponsorship)
• To occasionally travel out‑of‑town and overnight for professional development and/or project‑related work
