U.S. Bridge in Cambridge, Ohio seeks a Structural Engineer with proven steel-truss bridge design experience for vehicular and pedestrian structures.

The role requires a PE license and 5+ years in design, with collaboration across fabrication, drafting, and construction teams to deliver safe, cost-effective solutions. You will perform structural analysis, prepare calculations and drawings to AASHTO LRFD standards, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating multiple projects with project

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License; multi-state licensure a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the design of steel truss or modular bridge structures (vehicular and/or pedestrian).
  • Proficiency in STAAD, RISA, SAP2000, or Midas Civil.
  • Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, AISC, and AWS standards.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or Revit for 3D modeling and detailing coordination.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with design, fabrication, and construction teams.

Responsibilities

  • Structural analysis and design of steel truss and beam bridges for vehicular and pedestrian projects.
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations, design drawings, and specifications in accordance with AASHTO LRFD, state DOT, and local standards.
  • Collaborate with internal fabrication, drafting, and field teams to ensure constructability and cost-effectiveness of designs.
  • Conduct load rating analyses, inspections, and rehabilitation assessments for existing bridge structures.
  • Provide technical input for proposals, cost estimates, and project feasibility studies.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for technical accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as a technical mentor to junior engineers and interns, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Coordinate with project managers to maintain schedules, budgets, and quality standards across multiple concurrent projects.

Position Summary
We’re seeking a highly skilledStructural Engineerwith proven experience in thedesign of steel truss bridgesfor vehicular and pedestrian applications.
