Job summary

WSP USA seeks a Structural Engineer to join our US Mining & Metal, Process & Infrastructure Design team. This role can be based in Tempe, AZ; South Jordan, UT; or Tucson, AZ, per candidate preference. You will deliver designs for water/wastewater, heavy industry, mining and power clients.

Responsibilities include calculations, plan preparation, code interpretation, field reports, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Required: ABET degree, EIT, 3–5 years of experience; PE/SE preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • EIT required; PE/SE preferred or able to obtain within 1–2 years.
  • 3–5+ years structural engineering experience; heavy industry exposure preferred.
  • Strong communication with clients, contractors and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI 318/350.
  • Proficiency with structural software: ETABS, RISA, STAAD, SAFE, SAP2000.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and design structural elements manually and with design software.
  • Review building code requirements and design standards.
  • Prepare client deliverables: field reports, calculations, drawings, specs.
  • Perform inspections for concrete, masonry, and steel structures.
  • Review technical reports, correspondence and calculations.
