Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Lexington, KY is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to lead projects from concept through construction. You will collaborate with the design team, clients, and BIM professionals to deliver structural solutions across diverse building types.

With 4+ years of experience and a PE license, you will apply ETABS, RAM, and Revit to design and analyze structures while growing your professional credentials through mentorship and a supportive, local team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering; PE license required.
• Minimum 4 years of structural engineering design experience; project management experience a plus.
• Proficiency with structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, RISA‑3D, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC).
• Experience with BIM software such as Revit; strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of structural engineering projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of building types and materials
• Collaborate with clients to understand project goals and maintain clear, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle
• Participate in feasibility studies, site investigations, and structural assessments, as needed
• Prepare, review, and coordinate engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and reports in accordance with applicable building codes
• Monitor project progress, identify risks or challenges, and implement mitigation strategies to support successful outcomes
• Support KPFF’s mission of creating a perpetual organization built on happy people, happy clients, strong financial outcomes, and great engineering
• Promote compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while fostering a culture of safety
