Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Florida seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to lead design efforts for large steel systems and GSE for our LC-36 ground infrastructure. You will deliver robust structural solutions, perform FEA and hand calculations, and coordinate with fabrication partners through the full lifecycle. Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Structural Engineering with 7+ years’ experience, knowledge of IBC/ASCE/AISC, and proficiency with STAAD/ANSYS.

U.S. work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or similar field.
• 7+ years experience with design/analysis of large steel structures.
• Experience with FEA tools and connection design.
• Knowledge of civil codes and standards (IBC/ASCE/AISC/AWS).

This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.Applies standard engineering techniques to design, install, modify, analyze, repair and test aerospace structural systems. Development, release, and support of engineering artifacts across the development cycle to support hardware fabrication, assembly, verification, test and operations. Implements operating procedures, resolves system malfunctions, and provide technical information. You’ll have the unique opportunity to be part of a great team building the ground mechanical and structural systems and GSE (Ground Support Equipment) for Blue Origin’s giant rockets, New Glenn and New Glenn 9x4!**Responsibilities include but are not limited to:*** Lead design efforts for assigned subsystems, independently resolve technical challenges.* Own and deliver structural design solutions for large structural/mechanical systems.* Independently perform and review FEA and hand-calcs for complex steel structures.* Manage external design and fabrication partners through complete project lifecycle, and oversee equipment fabrication, assembly, installation, and testing & activation.**Minimum Qualifications:*** Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, or similar disciplines.* 7+ years experience with a strong background in design/analysis/construction of large and complex steel structural systems (e.g. steel towers, launch vehicle GSE, aerospace tooling, oil & gas structures, movable structures, steel bridges and platforms, etc).* Experience in structural and mechanical analysis utilizing FEA tools.* Experience designing and analyzing bolted and welded connections.* Knowledge of civil engineering codes and standards (e.g. IBC, ASCE, AISC, AWS, etc)* Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.**Desired Qualifications:*** Master's degree in Structural Engineering, or closely related field.* Professional Engineer (PE) license.* Structural Engineer (SE) license.* Experience in STAAD, ANSYS, and SAP2000.* Experience in PTC Creo/Windchill.* 2+ years direct GSE design and analysis experience.**Culture Statement**Don’t meet all desired requirements?
