Job summary

Amentum is offering internships designed to introduce hands-on skills and a broad learning experience for students in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, and MIS. Interns will support project calculations, design drawings, and other duties as needed.

Pending qualifications, candidates may work toward FE or higher-level credentials. Candidates should be US citizens, with strong communication and organizational abilities, and a willingness to work both

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Civil or Architectural Eng with Structures major; minimum 90 credits.
• College student with 90+ credits and pursuing degree.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of word processing and office software.
• Organizational skills and detail-oriented work.
• Ability to work independently and with guidance.
• US Citizenship required (no dual citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of project calculations.
• Assist in the production of design drawings.
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned.
• Support various engineering and ES&H, construction management, CS or MIS internships as needed.

Job Summary

• Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
• Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience.
• Individuals interning in Environmental Sciences (ES&H), Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science and Management Information Systems.
• Performs all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
• Assist in the preparation of project calculations.
• Assist in the production of design drawings.

Minimum Requirements

• Working towards Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a Structures Major (or equivalent education).
• College or university student with a minimum of 90 credits.
• Good oral and written communications skills.
• Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications.
• Organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.
• Works independently and collaboratively with guidance and direction from others.
• US Citizen (dual citizenship is not allowed).

Preferred Qualifications

• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.
• Working towards Master of Science degree in structural engineering.
• Coursework in Reinforced Concrete and Steel Design.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards, including AISC 360, ASCE 7, IBC, and ACI 318
• Working knowledge of STAAD.Pro modeling, analysis, design, and post processing or similar software tools.
• Working knowledge in MathCad, Excel, and Word.

Compensation & Benefits:

HIRING SALARY RANGE:$23-$32/Hourly (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen. US Dual Citizenship may be considered.

Compensation Details:

$25 - $32 HOURLY
