Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Structural Engineer II to join the New Glenn program in the Greater Seattle Area. You will design and analyze primary and secondary structures for a high-rate aerospace vehicle, build 3D models and drawings, and work with manufacturing to ensure successful hardware integration.

The role requires a BS in engineering with 2+ years of experience in structural design for launch vehicles or similar applications, proficiency in Creo, and knowledge of FEA tools and GD&T.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2+ years of related experience.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent resident, or eligible to work in the U.S.
• Experience with launch vehicles, aircraft, or similar structural design.
• Experience with metallic components, load path distribution, and strength sizing.
• Knowledge of material selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniques.
• Strong understanding of structural design and analysis fundamentals.
• Proficient in Creo for mechanical design.
• Ability to perform structural analysis using hand calculations and FE methods.
• Familiarity with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).

Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.We are looking for a skilled engineer with experience in flight vehicle structures to coordinate design and support production of unpressurized structural assemblies for a launch vehicle upper stage.
