Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • 5+ years of relevant buildings-related structural design experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency with structural design and analysis software (ETABS, RISA, RAM).
  • Thorough knowledge of building codes and standards (IBC, ASCE).
  • Desire to take independent initiative and ownership of work.
  • United States citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Design structural systems for a variety of building types including airports and government facilities.
  • Independently execute design tasks or lead technical efforts, mentor team members.
  • Manage aspects of project delivery, balancing scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers and participate in cross-team reviews.

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Arlington, VA office as part of our Federal Buildings & Infrastructure team. Collaborating with our expert architects and engineers, you’ll design structural systems for a variety of building types including airports, government and mission-critical facilities, data centers, and large-scale manufacturing facilities. Depending on experience, you will either independently execute design tasks or lead technical efforts, mentor team members, and manage aspects of project delivery. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, code-compliant designs while balancing scope, schedule, and budget. Our global network provides access to subject matter experts and opportunities for cross-regional collaboration and travel.

Here’s what you’ll need
  • Master’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis
  • 5+ years of relevant buildings-related structural design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Proficiency with structural design and analysis software (e.g., ETABS, RISA, RAM)
  • Thorough knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE)
  • Desire to take independent initiative and ownership of work
  • United States citizenship
Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Structural Engineer (SE) license
  • Experience with Revit
  • Familiarity with Federal government clients, standards, and criteria (e.g., UFC)
  • Experience with design-build and early contractor involvement delivery methods
  • United States security clearance, or the ability to obtain

The base salary range for this position is $100,000.00 to $150,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
