Job summary

LJB Inc. in Charlotte, North Carolina, is seeking a Mid-level Structural Engineer to join our Safety practice.

You will analyze, design, plan, and create structural components for fall protection projects, coordinating with design staff and producing construction documents. The role requires a bachelor's degree in civil/architectural/mechanical engineering, 5+ years of experience, and CAD experience with Revit and Bluebeam; RAM or other analysis software is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, architectural, or mechanical engineering (structural emphasis preferred).
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in structural projects and fall protection preferred.
  • CAD experience (Revit and Bluebeam preferred); RAM or other structural analysis software experience.

Responsibilities

  • Documents existing conditions for fall protection additions (platforms, anchorages, horizontal lifelines).
  • Analyze building components to support fall protection systems (steel framing, cold-formed steel, cast-in-place concrete).
  • Develop layouts of fall protection systems and coordinate with existing structures.
  • Prepare calculations detailing engineering design and assist with construction documents.
  • Coordinate with design staff to ensure accurate drawings; perform tasks in Revit and CAD.
  • May coordinate projects via client communications and meetings.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through ongoing training.
