Job summary

LHB, Inc. in the United States is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to contribute to structural design and drafting under experienced supervision.

The role includes hybrid work arrangements, collaboration with design teams, and field assessments of existing structures in client-facing projects. Responsibilities emphasize preparing calculations and drawings, attending meetings, reviewing submittals, and producing technical reports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel domestically, intermittently.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work outside in most weather conditions.
  • Pre-employment background check and drug screen as required by law.

Position Summary

The responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with, direct, and perform project drafting
  • Work with other engineers and technicians to perform field assessments of existing structures
  • Assist with construction site visits and field observations
  • Complete requests for information and review of submittals
  • Meet client objectives, and exceed their expectations
  • Assist with written technical reports
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to travel domestically, intermittently
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and work outside in most weather conditions
  • Upon receipt of an offer of employment, applicants must be able to successfully complete pre-employment onboarding requirements that will include a criminal/civil background check and drug screen, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior structural engineering experience including concrete and steel design
  • Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Mathcad, and structural analysis software such as RISA and/or STAAD
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Experience with industry, building, and design codes
  • Experience with proposal preparation
  • Possess excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work with constantly changing priorities
  • MSHA Certification
  • Attention to detail, quality, and accuracy
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks, respond positively to feedback, and an openness and desire to learn
  • Good oral and written communication skills, including technical writing ability
Salary Range
  • This position’s anticipated base salary range is $67,925 - $75,075 (This position is eligible for yearend bonuses, as well as straight time pay for all hours that exceed 40 in a work week) Offer will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
