The role conducts forensic investigations—including failure analysis, evidence examination, and report authoring to support the evaluation of failures, insurance claims and legal matters.

You will support licensed engineers and work with local offices as you expand expertise across disciplines in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
  • Four (4) years of experience in structural engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, plus ability to write clear reports.
  • Able to work in a team and meet deadlines.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Forensic Engineering Consultant conducts forensic investigations—including failure analysis, evidence examination, and report authoring to support the evaluation of failures, insurance claims, and legal matters. This role builds expertise in specific engineering disciplines, supports licensed engineers and expert teams, contributes to sales and industry events, and participates in ongoing technical training to advance professional knowledge and skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts forensic investigation (failure analysis, interviews, evidence examinations, evidence testing, research), and authoring engineering reports related to the evaluation of failures, insurance claims and legal matters.
  • Supports licensed engineers and local office as appropriate related to forensic investigations, as noted above.
  • Builds expertise in specific engineering disciplines to advance skills and experience.
  • Assists expert teams and sales teams with sales, growth, and industry events.
  • Writes, reviews, and co-authors reports, research, and protocols.
  • Attends and presents internal technical training in areas of expertise as they acquire training and become more knowledgeable and skilled in various areas.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Travel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.

Experience

  • Four (4) years of experience in structural engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education required.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to create and complete comprehensive, accurate and constructive written reports.

Must have continual use of manual dexterity.

For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $35.00 - $ 50.00/Hour.
