Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is seeking a Structural Engineer in West Mifflin, PA with an active DOE L clearance or DOD equivalent requirement. The candidate will collaborate across locations and review supplier design submittals to ensure designs meet technical requirements, interfacing with stakeholders to drive project objectives.

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science are required.

• US citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
• DOE L clearance or DOD equivalent required to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineers across multiple locations
• Review and disposition Supplier design submittals to validate designs based on technical requirements
• Interface with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are satisfied

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Prior experience with fire suppression design
• Prior experience with structural stress analysis
• Ability to review, understand, and apply relevant engineering codes and standards (e.g. UFC, IBC, ASME)
• Strong knowledge of special inspection and/or lifting and handling requirements
• Prior experience supporting design reviews and technical interchanges with Suppliers
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to think creatively and make recommendations to senior project personnel
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products

Education and Experience

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field -
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
