Job summary

SSOE, Inc. is seeking an Engineer I to perform a variety of routine engineering assignments under supervision, with increasing responsibility based on performance.

You will draft, interpret, and translate designs into working drawings using CADD software, while collaborating with supervisors to address problems and implement appropriate methods. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's in Engineering; EIT is preferred with 1 year of experience as Engineer I or 2+ years with prior employers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Engineering required.
• EIT preferred with a minimum one year experience as Engineer 1 or two+ years with prior employer(s).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine engineering assignments under supervision with increasing responsibility.
• Consults with supervisor to screen assignments for unusual problems and selects methods.
• Receives close supervision on new aspects but has some freedom to exercise judgment.
• Works under supervision on portions of broader assignments.
• Drafts interpretation of design into working drawings and applies engineering fundamentals.
• May be assisted by a designer, but usually no leadership of others.
• Performs routine calculations and works on PC. Organizes and maintains project notebook.
• Communicates progress or problems to supervisor.
• Performs design work on CADD.
• Travel required.
• Valid driver's license required (waived for some assignments).

• Consults with supervisor to screen assignments for unusual or difficult problems and selects appropriate methods and techniques to apply.


• Receives close supervision on new aspects of assignment but has some freedom to exercise judgment in making engineering decisions.


• Works under the direction of a supervisor on specific and limited portions of a broader assignment that requires some supervision.


• Drafts interpretation of own design into completed working drawings and applies engineering fundamentals to design.


• May be assisted by a designer, but usually assumes no responsibility for direction of others.


• Performs routine calculations and work on PC system.


• Organizes and maintains project design notebook.


• Communicates with supervisor concerning progress or problems in an assigned task.


• Performs design work on CADD.


• Travel required.


• Valid driver's license required. May be waived for international assignments.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice, is required.

EIT preferred with a minimum one (1) year experience with SSOE as an Engineer 1, or the same educational requirements as above with two (2) or more years of related practical experience with former employer(s)

Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
