Job summary

TSP, Inc. in Rochester, MN is seeking a Professional Engineer to perform structural calculations and prepare construction documents for a range of challenging projects. You should read construction drawings, coordinate with architects and contractors, and stay current with engineering codes and standards.

Ideal candidates will be able to lead or collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, mentor EITs, and deliver high-quality design solutions for diverse structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural concentration.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligible.
• Knowledge of RAM, RISA, Revit and Enercalc preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop full construction documents (drawings and specifications) for complex structural systems and renovation projects.
• Perform site observations for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures.
• Write clear and concise reports.
• Assist in the training and professional development of EITs.
• Effectively communicate within TSP's multidisciplinary system of architects & engineers along with building owners, property managers, and contractors.
• Keep updated on applicable engineering codes, standards, and regulations.
• Champion TSP.

Primary Responsibilities:

As a Professional Engineer on our team, you will perform structural calculations and prepare construction documents for a wide variety of challenging projects. You should have a strong knowledge of mechanics of materials, wood design, reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry design. You must have a good understanding of, and the ability to read and interpret structural calculations and construction drawings.

Specific Duties:

• Develop full construction documents (drawing and specifications) for complex structural systems and renovation projects
• Perform site observations for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures
• Write clear and concise reports
• Assist in the training and professional development of EIT's
• Effectively communicate within TSP's multidisciplinary system of architects & engineers along with building owners, property managers, and contractors
