Job summary

OHM Advisors, the Community Advancement firm, is seeking a Structural Engineer to contribute to the stability and longevity of a diverse portfolio of community-focused projects across buildings, bridges, and more.

You will apply structural analysis, prepare construction plans, and perform field assessments. A Bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Engineering and 5+ years of bridge/culvert experience, plus proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation, are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years with materials used for bridge and culvert projects.
  • 5+ years of DOT or Local Public Agency bridge/culvert design experience.
  • Familiarity with structural engineering codes and standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and/or MicroStation.
  • FE or PE license is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform design calculations and prepare construction plans for diverse structural projects (buildings, bridges, unique structures).
  • Design and analyze structural elements (bridges, building framing, foundations).
  • Learn and apply engineering principles to projects.
  • Occasionally perform field condition inspections of existing structures.
  • Prepare reports supporting structural analyses and field investigations.

What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors

As a Structural Engineer at OHM Advisors, you will bring the specialized knowledge and skills necessary to ensure the stability, safety, and longevity of the firm’s diverse portfolio of community-focused projects. Your experience with translating architectural and functional concepts into buildable and reliable structures that serve the needs of the community will be crucial.

Your Responsibilities
  • Primarily responsible for performing designcalculations and preparing construction plans and specifications fordiverse structural projects including buildings, bridges, and unique structures.
  • Responsible for performing design and analysis ofvarious structural elements (bridge elements, building framing, and foundations, etc.).
  • Responsible for learning and applying practical use of engineering principles.
  • Performing occasional fieldwork such as condition inspection of existing structures.
  • Preparation of various reports to support thestructural analysis and field investigations performed.
Education, Experience, & Licensure:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • 5+ years with materials utilized for bridge and culvert projects.
  • 5+ years of DOT or Local Public Agency bridge and culvert design experience as a Structural Engineer.
  • Familiarity with relevantstructural engineering codes and industry standards.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and/or MicroStation software.
  • Experience with Hy-8/HEC RAS a plus.
  • Professional Engineering License or FE is a plus.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in the use Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to continue to grow our structural group.
