As part of the Water Design Center’s Structural Group, the Structural Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the development of structural designs for various Water Business Line projects. The role includes developing detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations for new water and wastewater treatment plants or improvements to existing facilities.
The Project Engineer will also assist the Group Leader in coordinating schedules, monitoring budgets, and ensuring delivery of quality work products that adhere to Garver standardization.
The Project Engineer must have a strong knowledge base of engineering principles—including concrete, steel, and masonry design. Knowledge of the provisions of the International Building Code and its referenced material Code is preferred.
Candidates must possess strong technical problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills, be self‑motivated, enjoy team‑oriented work, and have good oral and written communication skills. They should have a basic understanding of multi‑disciplinary practices (process, surveying, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control) and be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook. Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation is preferred. Candidates must also have basic knowledge of finite element modeling using plates and frame elements.
Some travel may be required.
