Job description

Title: STRUCTURAL ENGINEER III Location: Onsite role in Englewood, CO Pay Rate: $73 per hour Contract Duration: 12 months +

Summary: Design, analyze, and certify cutting-edge defense systems, ground vehicles, and advanced mission payloads through their complete lifecycle. Evaluate complex metallic, composite, and additive manufacturing structures against harsh static and dynamic environments. Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to oversee structural testing and author comprehensive engineering reports.

Description – Structural Engineer III:

Lead the structural analysis and development of new products and processes throughout the entire product lifecycle. Examine complex metallic (steel and aluminum) structures, including welded and bolted connections, as well as composite and additive manufacturing systems. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design and development teams to integrate structural designs into overall systems. Oversee the development and execution of structural tests to validate product performance. Review structural designs and author detailed substantiation reports.

Qualifications – Structural Engineer III:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline with typically 6 or more years of relevant experience.
• Advanced understanding of structural analysis and design principles, practices, and requirements/loads development.
• Hands-on experience with static and dynamic analyses utilizing industry-standard hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as FEMAP, MSC Patran, and Nastran.
• Experience analyzing steel and aluminum structures, bolted joints, welds, and components exposed to vehicle shock and vibration.
• Physical requirements include walking, sitting, standing, climbing stairs, repetitive hand/arm/finger motions, and rarely lifting up to 25 lbs, with rare exposure to outdoor elements, fumes, or loud noises.
