Role Description

Arcadis is seeking a Project Structural Engineer to support the delivery of water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the structural design of critical public infrastructure - including treatment facilities, pump stations, and related systems - while developing technical expertise and increasing responsibility in project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Perform structural design and analysis for new and existing water and wastewater infrastructure, developing calculations, drawings, and specifications for reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry systems.
  • Evaluate existing structures and contribute to repair and rehabilitation strategies addressing aging facilities and improving long‑term performance.
  • Take ownership of defined structural design packages, manage scope and deliverables, and apply sound engineering judgment while gaining independence in technical decision‑making.
  • Collaborate closely with civil, mechanical, and process teams to deliver integrated design solutions, preparing construction documents including plans, sections, details, and specifications, and supporting quality control reviews to ensure accuracy, constructability, and alignment with project requirements.
  • Support field implementation during construction through submittal reviews, RFIs, and site observations, working directly with contractors to resolve challenges and ensure successful execution of designs.
  • Participate in team and client coordination and contribute technical inputs for proposals and project pursuits.
  • Contribute to community‑focused projects that improve water quality, advance sustainability, and enhance infrastructure resilience.
  • Develop professional capabilities, gaining exposure to increasingly complex responsibilities and progressing toward senior and leadership positions.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • 7 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry systems.
  • Experience with water, wastewater and flood resiliency related projects.
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
  • OSHA 10 Hr Training.
