Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a team-focused Structural Engineer to join our Northwest team in Boise, ID. You will actively lead design for water and wastewater facilities, pump stations, treatment facilities, and conveyance/storage systems, developing project reports, calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.

You will collaborate with local and national experts, manage time and budget, mentor junior staff, and utilize structural software such as STAAD.PRO, SAP2000, RAM Elements, and RAM

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a structural engineer.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Structural Engineer (S.E.), or eligible to obtain license within six months of hire.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with municipal or industrial water and wastewater plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems.
  • Alternative heavy civil (dams/hydroelectric), industrial or mining experience considered.
  • Construction phase support for listed project types.
  • Experience with multi-discipline project teams.
  • Team oriented with ability to mentor and manage time/budget.
  • Experience with structural design and analysis software and office review tools.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Develop conveyance and storage system designs with support from experts.

Position Overview

We are currently looking for a team focused and dedicated Structural Engineer to join our Northwest team. As a member of our team, you will actively be working with our network of structural engineers responsible for conventional design and design/build projects for water and wastewater clients. You’ll be challenged with leading and designing facilities such as water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities for water and wastewater plants and conveyance and storage systems. This role will require you to lead the development of project specific technical reports, calculations, construction drawings and technical specifications with the support of local and national experts.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of experience working as a structural engineer
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Structural Engineer (S.E.), or eligible to obtain license through reciprocity within six (6) months of hire is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with a structural engineering emphasis; master's degree in structural engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with municipal or industrial water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems
  • Alternatively heavy civil (dams and hydro‑electric), industrial or mining experience will be considered
  • Construction phase support services for the types of projects listed above
  • Experience working in multi‑discipline project teams
  • Team oriented with strong capability to learn, mentor, and work independently while managing time and budget
  • Experience with structural design and analysis software (STAAD.PRO, TEDDS, SAP2000, RAM Elements, RAM Structural System, Mathcad)
  • Experience with office programs (WORD, EXCEL, OneNote, Teams) and review software (Bluebeam)
  • U.S. Citizenship

Compensation

The base salary range for this position is $102,900.00 to $207,100.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
