Job summary
Marine Solutions Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer in Idaho to join a team delivering safe, durable waterfront and bridge projects. You will engage in fieldwork, prepare technical documents, and apply engineering codes to deliver high-quality solutions.
Ideal candidates have PE eligibility, 4+ years of structural design experience, and proficiency with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and related tools. Travel within the continental U.S. may be required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering with a focus in structural engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant structural design experience with concrete, steel and timber.
- Experience designing bridges, marine waterfronts, and temporary works.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural engineering work for projects from inception to completion.
- Lead successful delivery of high-quality structural projects within budget and on schedule.
- Perform complex structural computations using standard software, codes, procedures, practices.
- Prepare comprehensive structural documents including reports, studies, plans, and specs.
- Collaborate with project participants and stakeholders on structural work.
- Direct and supervise work of engineers, technicians, and drafters.
- Participate in project meetings and help resolve issues.
- Assist in proposal prep, scoping, and estimating project costs.
- Identify innovative engineering solutions based on client/site constraints.

- Perform structural engineering work for projects of varying size and complexity from inception to completion.

- Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in structural engineering.
- Proficiency in computer-assistedstructural engineering (i.e. STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, LPILE, APILE GROUP, Autocad, etc.). and office software and equipment
- Proficiency in the use of Mathcad, Blockpad, or similar software
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in the English language.
- Ability to define problems, collect/interpret data, evaluate facts, draw valid conclusions, and effectively communicate findings/results.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiency and effectively.
- Ability to work with moderate supervision and maximum efficiency in a small or medium size office setting
- Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil, with a focus in structural engineering from an accredited four-year university.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant structural design experience in the structural engineering field working with concrete, steel and timber materials
- Experience in designing bridges, marine waterfronts, industrial structures, and temporary construction works, including demolition plans, erection plans, shoring, cofferdams, and concrete formwork.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 1 year
- Valid US Driver’s License
- Valid US Passport
The duties of this position require the employee to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. This position may require the employee to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While in the field, the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time. The annual salary range for positions in Utah and Idaho are $98,000 to $109,000 based on education and relevant experience.
